We are seeking a skilled ASP.NET/ SQL Server developer with strong background in building scalable, high quality and high performance web applications on the Microsoft technology stack. You will be responsible for building and maintaining internal and external facing applications. This person will work with a team of experienced analysts, developers and business resources to build highly-performing enterprise systems that improve workflow, increase staff productivity and financial performance. You'll be empowered to actively engage in the improvement of all facets of the business as well as the growth of your own technical mastery. RESPONSIBILITIES: Learn new technologies and platforms Code new systems as well as extend existing software products using .NET 3.5/4.0, ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, SQL Server. Design, develop, enhance, and maintain new .NET applications and web services, including all tiers of the application; UI, code-behind, controls, middle-tier business components, database layer, etc. Design, code and optimize SQL Server Stored Procedures, Functions and Triggers. Create and maintain SSIS packages to support ETL processes. Develop reports using SSRS, MS Excel and Pivot tables. Conduct and assist in design and code reviews. Conduct and assist in unit and integration testing. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED SKILLS: Understanding of a relational databases and normal operations of a database system. Experience designing and building applications using the Microsoft development platform. 4 plus years experience with C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, CSS, jQuery, Javascript, SQL Server 2005/2008/2010, SSIS, SSRS, and Visual Studio 2010. 2-4 years experience writing ad-hoc Transact-SQL as well as Stored Procedures, Functions and Triggers. Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, and test driven development. Strong technical documentation ability, verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in team-based development projects. Insurance services industry experience is a plus. Support non-technical staff in resolution and communication of issues to clients.
